The Inner Citadel # How to Use This Program This is a 30-day operating system, not a motivational speech. Motivation fades; systems endure. Each day you will spend **15–25 minutes** on a sequence that builds the same habit the Stoics practiced for two thousand years: 1. **Read** the quote aloud (1 min). 2. **Absorb** the micro-lesson (3 min). 3. **Perform** the day's exercise (10–15 min). 4. **Journal** the prompt (5 min). 5. **Score** your day 0–10 (see below). --- ## The Daily Score (0–10) Each evening, before you sleep, record a single integer in the [tracker](../appendix/tracker/): - **0–3:** Reactive. The day owned you. You were dragged around by notifications, moods, and other people's urgency. - **4–6:** Mixed. You held the line on some things and lost it on others. - **7–9:** Proactive. You acted from your own judgments, did what was yours to do, and let go of what was not. - **10:** Complete. You lived this day as if it were your whole life — present, just, and undisturbed. The score is for honesty, not perfection. A 5 tracked daily beats a 10 abandoned at day 9. --- ## The Weekly Review (Days 7, 14, 21, 28) On each Sunday-equivalent, spend 20 minutes: - Read the week's scores and note the pattern. - Identify the **one practice** that produced the best days. Keep it. - Identify the **one friction** that produced the worst. Cut it. - Write the single sentence: _"Next week I will \_\_\_\_."_ --- ## The Three Anchors (used every day of the program) 1. **The Morning Shield** (before the world wakes): read the day's quote, set the day's intention, do the morning micro-exercise. 2. **The Midday Reset** (30 seconds): pause, breathe, ask _"What is mine to do right now? What is not mine?"_ 3. **The Evening Audit** (5 min): score the day, journal the prompt, lay the day to rest. --- ## What You Will Need - A pen. - A notebook or plain journal. - A calendar. - This site (or a printout). - No app required. (Though a single timer on your phone is allowed.) --- ## The Map: Four Phases Over Thirty Days | Phase | Days | Theme | Stoic Anchor | |-------|------|-------|--------------| | **I.
